Our Team Up

Our Team Up

The STAR Rugby initiative began in 2021 with a single club, aiming to address childhood adversity through play, connection, and a sense of belonging. Today, it supports over 1,000 young people and families nationwide, fostering resilience by creating safe environments and nurturing positive relationships with trusted adults. STAR transforms the lives of young people affected by traumatic experiences through a foundation of non-judgemental support, tough love, and teamwork. Team-Up is proud to sponsor and stand alongside such a wonderful teaming programme.

As part of our sponsorship, George Karseras donated his Extreme teaming expertise to the Mayflower Crew, coaching them prior to their Atlantic Rowing Challenge.

The Mayflower Crew

With an extraordinary display of determination, team work and mental endurance the Mayflower Crew crossed the finish line of the Atlantic Rowing Challenge on 24 January 2025.  Battling their own inner demons, storms, 20 foot waves, blistering heat and a marlin collision they conquered 3,000 miles, 44 days and 1 million strokes of Atlantic rowing; raising thousands of pounds for the Star Scheme and the Mustard Tree Cancer Support Centre.

A huge congratulations to the crew for achieving this monumental feat whilst also building stronger friendships, an enduring love and a togetherness that will last their lifetime.
